DR. TODD GRAY, Senior Pastor

“Hey. I’m Pastor Todd. I’ve served at Coggin since November 2021. I feel called to preach the Gospel in order to see life transformation and develop others to lead well.”

Todd was honored to serve this nation as a Captain in the United States Air Force before surrendering full-time to pastoral ministry. Todd has pastored churches in Texas for the past 15 years. He has been married to Tammy, the love of his life, for 21 years and together they have three children (Isaac, Autumn, and Christian). Todd is 100% Texan. He grew up in the San Angelo area and received his Undergraduate degree, in Kinesiology, from Angelo State University. After surrendering to the call to preach, Pastor Todd earned his Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He also received a Doctorate in Expository Preaching from the same Seminary. 

“I love preaching and leading, but I also feel it's crucial to take time away with the family. We love to travel together. Tammy and I also enjoy chasing our children around to all their sporting events. Jujitsu, Football, Basketball and Volleyball are just some of the events where you may find me, vocally supporting :-), my children. If you hear me in the stands… please don’t judge me. I also find great enjoyment in hunting, lifting weights, shooting and collecting knives. 

My prayer is that God would move in such a great way at and through Coggin, that only He could get the credit. He has done it before… let us ask together that He would do it again.” 

BILL ALLEN, Pastor of Recovery and Biblical Counseling

Hello, I’m Bill and I’ve been serving on staff at Coggin since 1992. For the first 21 plus years, I served as Associate Pastor of Education and Administration but for the last 8 years, I have been serving as Pastor of Recovery and Biblical Counseling. My wife, Lou, and I married in 1979. We have 2 wonderful adult children, one incredible son-in-law, 2 amazing grandkids, and 1 clever granddog. I graduated from Lamar University in 1978 with a degree in Music Education. I then worked in tool sales for several years before earning my Master of Arts in Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1990.  

 In my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my wife, being with my family, listening to music, woodworking, and reading books that cover various subjects.  

I have a desire to see people healed by the grace and power of Jesus Christ.  My hopes and desires for Coggin are that we will continue to grow in grace and truth and find ways to show the hope that is found only in Jesus Christ. 

RICKY CAVITT, Student Pastor

Hey! I’m Rick and I’ve been serving the students at Coggin for a long time and I still LOVE IT! I’m married to my lovely wife, Teresa and we have 2 kids, Canaan and Jordan. I enjoy the outdoors and in my spare time you can find me at the archery range or in the woods for a good bow hunt. One of my favorite things about working at Coggin is when students drop by my office. I get to work with a lot of wonderful college students and adults as we seek to care about every student every week.

Billy Cash, College Pastor

Hey, I’m Billy and I've served as the College Pastor at Coggin since 2015. I married my sweet bride, Lindsay, in 2005 and we have three wonderful kids who keep us busy. I graduated from HPU in 2001 and received a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2005. After a few years off, Lindsay and I moved to Portland where I received a Master of Theology from Western Seminary in 2011. In Portland, I discovered my love for hiking and all things outdoors. I also enjoy reading, playing guitar, and spending time with my family.   I’m passionate about Jesus and seeing college students live in serious pursuit of joy and the glory of God in Christ.  College years can be tumultuous ones, but years of incredible growth, change, and healing are in Jesus.  

matthew Pickard, Worship Pastor

Hey! I’m Matt and I began serving at Coggin as the Interim Worship Leader in November 2021, but have been serving as the Worship Pastor since August 2022. I graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a degree in Christian Studies with an emphasis in Worship Leadership in 2018. I met my beautiful and talented wife, Gabby, while we were attending DBU and we married in September 2019. Gabby and I lived in the DFW area for about a year and then moved to Brownwood in 2020. My main hobby is fishing, but I also really enjoy hunting, camping and working with my hands. 

I am passionate about the gospel and truly desire to facilitate worship services that exalt Jesus, above all else. My hope for Coggin is that we would be a church that passionately worships our Savior in spirit and in truth as we respond to what God has done in the gospel of Christ. My prayer is that the Spirit would use Coggin to continue to draw people into a deeper understanding of the gospel, believers and unbelievers alike.

Daniel attaway, discipleship Pastor

Hey, I’m Daniel and I’ve been on staff at Coggin since 2013, but have served as the Discipleship Pastor since 2015. In 2009 I married my best friend, Emily, and we have 4 kids who make our lives a lot less boring. I graduated from Howard Payne in 2008 with a degree in Christian Studies, and then went on to get my Masters of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary in 2012. My passion is to teach the Bible in all of its complexity and strangeness because I truly believe it is God-breathed. 

In my spare time I enjoy being with my family, roasting and drinking coffee (I’m kind of a coffee snob), reading, and working with my hands.  My hope for Coggin is that we would be a people who hold fast to the truth of the Gospel and are moved to love our neighbors with compassion. 

Chris Stuard, Junior High Pastor

Hi, I'm Chris Stuard, and I came on staff in the summer of 2012 as the Love Brownwood Pastor. I added on the role of Associate Youth Minister in May 2019. I graduated with my undergrad from Howard Payne in 2010, and a week later my wife and I were married. Amanda and I have 3 children: Chapel, Micah, and Blakely. I completed my Masters in Theology and Ministry in 2017 from Howard Payne.

I want to see the Gospel spread throughout the community of Brownwood through disciples of all ages who are making disciples. I am passionate about equipping the saints to live on mission wherever God has placed them and to recognize their neighborhoods, schools, and workplaces as a mission field. When I am not at the church, you can find me either hanging out with my family or sitting in the woods. I love archery and music. My hope for Coggin is that we would love and serve our community well by sharing the Gospel with passion and boldness. 

Kathy Petitt, Administrator

I am Kathy Petitt and have the blessing of serving as the Administrator at Coggin.  While I’ve been a member of Coggin for many years, my working at the church began in 2017.  My education and my working experiences in the business world have been mainly in the financial area with work also in human resources and facilities/equipment management.  The work in administration handles many of the details of the church so that our staff are freed up to lead the ministries of the church.

My two children are grown and married and I am blessed with three grandchildren.  (Of course, I have pictures!)  I am grateful to be a part of Coggin both as a member and on staff.

Amy brand, Children’s minister

Hey there!  I’m Amy, and I serve as the Children’s Minister at Coggin.  (I’m the newbie on staff - since January 2023 - but I know you’ll find Coggin folks to be as warm and welcoming as I already have!)  My husband, Cory, and I love doing life and ministry together.  We have three wonderful adult children, two of whom are now married.  Lance and Liz live in Dallas, Brent lives here in Brownwood, and Abby and Caleb live in Midland.  I graduated from University of Texas Permian Basin in 1999 with a B.A. in English and have both my Elementary and Early Childhood Teaching Certifications.  I taught public school for 14 years and have now been in Preschool and Children’s Ministry for 10 years!  I love spending time with my husband, hanging out with our kids, reading (all types of books, but especially Christian and historical fiction), and doing anything creative/crafty! 

God has given me such a passion to partner with parents to make disciples.  He continues to grow and equip me through the opportunities He has given me to serve in preschool and children’s ministries, and it is a privilege to help equip parents and grandparents at Coggin to be spiritual leaders in their homes.  I love sharing the joy that I’ve found in Christ with children and their families, and I consider it a huge blessing to be a part of laying a foundation of faith and helping children understand how much their Creator loves them and wants to be in relationship with them!

DeAnn Colvin, Administrative Assistant

Hi, My name is DeAnn Colvin and I have been on staff at Coggin since 2007. I originally started as the Educational Ministry Assistance working with Bill Allen, and then moved on to Financial Ministry Assistance to work with Glenn Williamson/Kathy Petitt. I am married to my high school beau. We have been married over forty years. We have two wonderful children: Chelsey Gibson who is the Principal at Oakwood’s in Granbury, and Robert Colvin III who is a Green Beret in the Army, stationed in North Carolina. We have five awesome grandchildren.

I graduated from Brownwood High School. After being out of school numerous years I returned to get my Associate of Science degree from Ranger College where I was able to graduate Magna Cum Laude. When I have the opportunity I enjoy walking, jogging, hiking, and bicycling. 

Marilyn Stanke, Worship Ministry Assistant

Hi, I'm Marilyn. I have been blessed to be the Music/Sr. Adult Ministry Assistant since 2014. Singing Christian music has been my love since childhood and my passion is glorifying and sharing Jesus through the gift of song.

I have been married to my wonderful husband, Britt since 1982. We love to spend time with our three grown children and three grandchildren. In my spare time, I enjoy interior decorating, crafting and working out.

My prayer for Coggin is that we will be a people who are the hands and feet of Jesus excited and ready to share the Gospel everywhere we go.

Ron Davis, Senior Adult Minister and Choir Director

Hello, I'm Ron Davis. My wife, Freida, and I have been members at Coggin since January of 2013. Two years ago, I became the interim worship leader for the early service. Before moving to Brownwood, I served as the music and education minister for Baptist churches in Texas for over 45 years. I have degrees in music and in religious education. Freda is currently the organist at Coggin.

Our two children are Lauren Kirk, a member at Coggin and an education professor at Howard Payne, and Brian Davis, retired army warrant officer and now a troubleshooter for an international plastics company. Both are active in their local church.

My joy is leading our worship choir as we desire to not only sing with excellence but to be leaders in our early worship service. 

For recreation, I am a poor golfer.

Maranda Schaffer, Preschool Ministry Assoc.

Hi, I’m Maranda! I have had the pleasure of working at Coggin since 2013. I began as a Wee Kids teacher and then transitioned to Preschool Ministry Associate in 2015. I also currently serve as the Co-Director of our Wee Kids Preschool.

In 2005, I graduated from Tarleton State University, which is where I met my husband, Chad. We got married in 2006 and have three amazing children who keep us incredibly busy. It brings me so much joy to not only care for the young children who enter our church but to also have a role at the beginning of their spiritual development. It is a privilege to love on the future leaders of the church.

Ken Grammer, Maintenance

Hello. I’m Kenneth Grammer, but most people call me Ken. I love cracking jokes and giving people a good laugh. I enjoy anything that requires working with my hands. I’ve worked at the church for 6 years and I love my job. There’s never a dull moment. 

Hi! My name Eva (pronounced Eh-vah). I’m married with 4 kids and 10 grandkids who I love to spend time with. I worked as a supervisor at Sonic for 30 years but I love working at Coggin. I love the people I work with and quieter, more relaxed work atmosphere.

Two things that I really enjoy doing are cooking and cleaning. My favorite thing to cook is homemade enchiladas!
