COGGIN KIDS WEEKLY ACTIVITIES

Sunday School

Nursery | Babies-3 Year Olds | Available during all 3 services | Downstairs Main building (across from the Connection Cafe

We love babies and welcome any kids newborn-3 years old to the nursery. In the nursery, we use Group’s Play-N-Worship Curriculum for toddlers-3s (basic Bible stories from OT & NT, with colorful pictures, hands on activities, and repetition).

Pre-k-5th Grade | 9:45am | Upstairs Children’s Wing Main Building

Sunday School is an opportunity for kids to learn about the Bible on their level. We seek to make every week interactive, memorable, and impactful for each child. We start out all together for large group activity and worship and the dismiss them by grades to their classrooms where they dive deeper into the each weeks Bible lesson.

6th Grade | 9:45am | Main Building Room 213

Our 6th Grade Class meets on it’s own in Room 213. As these preteens are transitioning, we seek to help them understand habits of and topics like worship, reading scripture, evangelism, prayer, serving, and so much more.

Your First Visit

When you’re facing our building (the one with the steeple), you’ll want to find the east entrance on the right side. There’s a large welcome sign and it’s next to the playground. When you enter those doors, you’ll immediately see childcare workers ready to help at the Information Table straight ahead in the hallway. Here’s is where we’ll get your nursery kids (0-3 years) checked in, and also find age-appropriate classrooms for your other kiddos.

How Check-in Works

Before the service: You can check-in your child at the information table outside the nursery. After finding your child’s name in the database, you and your child will be given matching name tags that are exclusive to your family. Your child will wear the name tag portion, and the corresponding tag will be given to you.

After Service: When you return to the nursery, simply show your tag in order for your child to be released back to you.

During the Service: In the event that we need to contact you during the service, we will send you a text message. If you receive a text, simply return to the Information Desk where you checked in your child.

KIDS CONNECT

PRE-K-2nd GRADE | DURING 11:00AM Sunday SERVICE | UPSTAIRS CHILDREN’S WING MAIN BUILDING

Kids Connect is our children's worship service! Our goal is to provide a setting where kids can connect with Christ, the church, and one another! Using HYFI curriculum from Lifeway. We teach kids that who they are is grounded in Christ, focusing on topics like “I am known, I am broken, I am forgiven, I am loved, I am secure, I am meant to know God, I am made for community, I am here to share Jesus.”

We use stand-alone lessons to allow for inconsistent attendance, with heavy emphasis on relationship building to prompt a sense of belonging and connection. Media rich games and video clips engage kids and reinforce learning. Most importantly, the Gospel is presented every week.

Families choosing to attend worship together will have praise pack bags available during all church services. The bags, found at all sanctuary entrances, are filled with Christ-centered activities for kids to use during church services.

AWANA Clubs

3 Years old-6th grade | Wednesdays, 6:00pm-7:30pm | Main Building

Awana exists to share the Gospel with kids. God is changing lives and kids are a part of that through the Awana ministry.

The key focus for Awanas is scripture memorization, understanding, and application. The Awana handbooks clearly present the gospel at an age-appropriate level. The primary goal is to establish a personal relationship between each child and Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. The memory work, Bible studies, and other fun activities teach each child a Biblical worldview by increasing their Bible knowledge and instilling in them a love and respect for God and His Word.

If you are interested in enrolling you child to Awana Clubs, register your child in-person on a Wednesday night or register them online at the button below.

Volunteer at Awana

Awana's mission is three-fold: to reach kids, equip leaders, and change the world. This is a unique program that offers a curriculum that reaches kids and their families with the gospel, and by partnering with Coggin Church in this endeavor, you are helping to make disciples of kids in Brownwood.

We would love to have you join us in this mission and be a crucial part in the journey of a child to Christ. If you are interested in volunteering at Awana, email our Children’s Minister, Amy Brand.

Team Ion

5th & 6th grade (select group of leaders by application process) | Wednesdays 6:00pm-7:30pm | Main Building

Designed to help unleash the leadership potential of preteens.  The goal is to help preteens become ‘positively charged’ to reach the world around them for Christ, and to learn to have their ‘eye-on’ those around them to find ways to serve and lead well.

Each week, they will have a team building activity, a leadership lesson, skill training, and a challenge with reflection or process time.  We’ll take a different topic each month, talking about topics like hospitality, holiness, humility, thankfulness, prayerfulness, representing Christ, faith in God, respect for authority, and sharing God’s love.

If your son or daughter is interested in being apart of Team Ion, fill out the application form and give it or email it to Amy Brand.
