WHAT WE BELIEVE

“In the midst of loneliness and dissatisfaction, Coggin wants to help you learn God’s truth in a supportive community that pursues a full life in Jesus”

GOD

We believe there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each person of the Godhead is co-existent, co-equal, and co-eternal. One God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is the foundation of Christian faith and practice. (Genesis 1:1, Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, John 10:30).

CHRIST

We believe in the full humanity and deity of Christ (John 10:33); His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:34-35); His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15, Hebrews 7:26); His miracles (John 2:11; His vicarious and atoning death (1 Corinthians 15:3, Ephesians 1:7, Hebrews 2:9); His resurrection (John 11:25, 1 Corinthians 15:4); His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19); His personal return to earth in power and glory (Acts 1:11, Revelation 19:11-16).

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whom Christians are indwelled and enabled to live a godly life (Romans 8:13-14, 1 Corinthians 3:16, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, Ephesians 4:30, Ephesians 5:18).

THE SCRIPTURES

We believe that the Bible is God's infallible and inerrant word to us concerning Himself. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21, 2 Timothy 1:13, Psalm 119:105, 160 & 12:6, Proverbs 30:5).

SALVATION

We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of the human nature, and that all are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ, and that only by God's grace through faith alone are we saved (John 3:16-19, John 5:24, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:8-9, Ephesians 2:8-10, Titus 3:5).

THE CHURCH

We believe that all who have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ and adopted into the family of God are members of the church, the body of Christ. This standing is not predicated on one's membership with a local, visible congregation, but we believe such membership is not only vital but biblically mandated. We believe that it is the duty of all who belong to the church of Jesus Christ to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, laying aside selfish ambition and loving one another with a pure heart. (Matt. 16:16-18, Acts 2:42-47, Romans 8:9, 1 Corinthians 12:12-27, Galatians 3:26-28Ephesians 4:3-10).

RESURRECTION

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost. Those who are in Christ will receive a resurrection like that of Christ and will live to reign with Him for eternity. Those who are outside of Christ will be raised to face judgment and will finally be separated from God. (John 5:28-291 Corinthians 15:1-49).
