I grew up in South Texas. Upon high school graduation I came to Howard Payne University and spent the next four years wrestling, growing, and being discipled by a couple of men here. It was a formative time in my life, and I think my desire to see college students grow and be challenged in their faith started here. After graduating from Howard Payne I spend ten years in student ministry. During this time, I married Lindsay, an artistic, funny, wise, and rock solid woman who has spent these last eleven years being used by God to make me a better man, pastor, and dad.
We moved to Portland, Oregon in 2009 where I spent the next six years finishing up a Th.M. degree at Western Seminary, watching our family grow from two to five, and serving as the Worship and College Pastor for a church there. We moved back to Brownwood in 2015, feeling that the Lord was moving us here. I love my family, hiking, reading, and watching Netflix with my wife. I’m passionate about Jesus and seeing college students live their lives in a serious pursuit of joy and the glory of God in Christ. These can be tumultuous years, but years of incredible growth, change, and healing in Jesus. I want to help college students see that.
Hey, my name is Melodee Carrier! I am a junior at Howard Payne University from San Marcos, Texas. I’m majoring in Christian Education with a Bible minor. I am the chaplain for Delta Chi Rho, one of the sororities on campus, and I am also involved in the BSM leadership team. I serve as the “media/communications” intern for Genuine, so I make all the fun posters and annoy you guys with posts on our Facebook page all the time. I really am just here for y’all and would love to help you in your walk with Christ in any way I can. I am not sure exactly what I would like to do yet, but I plan on staying at HPU to earn my Masters in Theology and Ministry. I love playing sports, being outside, paddle-boarding, reading, and hanging out with people. Outside of school and church, I am most likely at the lake or in a hammock somewhere. College is such a crazy time, but it is full of opportunities to learn, grow, and have fun. The college ministry at Coggin is a great community of people to have alongside you during all those times in life. It has truly been a family atmosphere for me, and the teaching will extremely challenge but also encourage you, in your walk with Christ.
Send me an email or FB message if you need anything or have questions!
Hey, my name is Zoe Emley. I fell in love with Coggin the minute I walked in, and I hope as time goes on, you will have the same love for it as I do. I am a junior Family Studies major and clinical psych intern at New Horizons Ranch. I also work in the church nursery hugging on babies during the week, which feels more like a vacation than a job.
On campus I am a leader of the Missions Sending Crew through the BSM, and a member of the Gamma Beta Phi Honors Society. I love working, talking to people, and eating cheese fries. So, if you ever feel like you need to take a break from school and have a craving for some delicious junk food, hit me up. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org.
