Our vision for Love Brownwood is to see hope and wholeness restored in people's lives through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is achieved through relationships between the local church and our neighbors. In these relationships we would desire to see the gospel proclaimed, salvation through faith, discipleship, and a new disciple growing in their faith and sharing with their friends and family. Everything we do comes from the desire to see these things come to be.

EAST ELEMENTARY MENTORING
If you have a passion for young children, education, and the Lord, please consider being a mentor to an elementary-age student. The local elementary school has invited us into the school to mentor students and build relationships that have a lasting impact. We are currently looking for more mentors. Please prayerfully consider joining us in this intentional, simple endeavor to reach the children in our community.
Once a week Love Brownwood provides a parenting class at the Brownwood Community Church or at 1808 Coggin Avenue at 5 p.m. You must be enrolled in the 6 week course in order to receive certification for the course. Please contact Chris at 325-260-3903 for more information. Visitors are welcome!
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
During the summer months, we partner with Good Samaritan Ministries to provide food for chronically hungry children. GSM provides the food, and we ask church members to volunteer to deliver a bag of food each week to the same family. We started the summer program in 2012, and we have seen lasting relationships built between church members and families.
Each quarter multiple Sunday school classes participate in our Service Sunday. They miss the normal church activities to serve in the community. Visiting our neighbors, repairing a house, and assisting the local homeless shelter are among some of the projects we have participated in. Our next Service Sunday is TBD; please contact Chris if you would like to participate.
Last December we hosted First Blessing. We distributed new shoes to 123 children, served a warm breakfast and connected with families. This was a special day for our community and church family. It was a blessing to meet and serve sweet families in Brownwood. Each family at First Blessing receives breakfast, socks, shoes, the Jesus Storybook Bible, and a picture with Santa! It is a FUN morning! This is a time to connect families with the love of Jesus Christ. Important dates: First Blessing Meeting - TBD. First Blessing Shoe Event - TBD.
