The Bible is a beautiful story, but let's be honest, it's a strange story. Have you ever found it difficult to engage with certain parts of the Bible because it seemed a little, well, weird? We believe that the Bible is God's self-revelation, so knowing and responding to God's word in all of it's strangeness and beauty is vastly important.

Biblical and Theological literacy has fallen in previous decades, and so have training centers that seek to equip men and women in that literacy. We believe that this type of training has always been part of the church's mission and our hope is that Coggin U will foster a renewed love and interest in our Story, our Belief, and our Formation.

Coggin U is for anyone who wants to know God and His word more, but it is not just knowledge for the sake of knowledge. The goal is to make disciples who make disciples. Our desire is to see future teachers developed; to see business men and women, moms and dads, grandparents and neighbors equipped to represent Christ well in their homes, neighborhoods, and work places.

Coggin U has three core values: Christian Story, Christian Belief, and Christian Formation. You will learn what it means that the story of Israel and the story of Christ is our story. Through the story you will also learn how the story of the Bible shapes our belief. Finally, you will learn how story and belief determine the shape of your life.

The program roughly runs the duration of the school year, being made up of two semesters—the fall (August - December) and spring (January - May). We understand that this is a big commitment, but we also expectantly hope that one day you look back and realize how the love of Christ grew in you as a result of participating in Coggin U.

Participants will gather on Sunday evenings from 4:30-6:30 pm. Our time together will consist of worship, teaching, discussion, and spiritual formation exercises. Coggin U by nature is community oriented and so we ask that participants commit to attend each week and complete any outside work assigned so that we might mine the depths of what the Lord has for us.

The cost for Coggin U is $80, but may vary slightly depending on the cost of materials. Partial financial aid is available upon request.
